Important SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS for the installed rechargeable battery

The device you have purchased contains a 1 cell 3.7v 4.26Wh Lithium Polymer accumulator (LiPo accumulator). Please read the following information carefully to prevent damage due to incorrect handling.

In case of improper handling, LiPo accumulators can explode, burn, release toxic gases and cause burns. Since we cannot control the proper and correct handling after delivery, we reject any liability for damages and consequential damages of any kind. In principle, it can be assumed that LiPo rechargeable batteries are to be regarded as comparatively safe when handled properly and correctly. Mechanical stress (dropping, damage, crushing, overheating, frost) can change the inner life of LiPo accumulators and cause internal short circuits as a late consequence long after the stress.

The device should therefore be stored carefully and not treated as bulk material. The operating temperature should not fall below the range -10°C or exceed +40°C. At temperatures below zero, special aging mechanisms occur which can lead to irreversible damage to the cells. In the worst case, this leads to an internal short circuit.

Charging, discharging, storage, breaks in operation:

  • Do not leave the device at the charging station for an unnecessarily long time. When charging is complete, disconnect the charger from the device and the grid.
  • During longer breaks in operation, store within a temperature range of min. +10°C and max. +30°C (ideal storage at room temperature).
  • Avoid high humidity (not above 65%).
  • Never leave an accumulator fully discharged or fully charged for a long period of time. Prolonged storage of a completely full or completely empty battery causes faster aging
  • Longest life expectancy for long-term storage is approximately 80% of battery capacity (as-delivered condition).

General safety instructions for LiPo rechargeable batteries:

  • Do not charge the accumulator in a tightly packed storage/room.
  • Charge only with good ventilation and heat dissipation.
  • Do not expose to direct sunlight during charging.
  • Keep a safe distance from combustible materials.
  • Do not store in front of radiators.

Clear warning signs for "do not operate":

  • Deformations (bloating). Look at housing too!
  • traces of melting
  • Smell
  • Heating or discoloration (are not blemishes)

Disposal:

  • If possible, remove the rechargeable battery before handing in the old device and return it to the retailer or to a collection point. Rechargeable batteries are problematic materials and should never be disposed of with household waste!
  • If you cannot remove the battery easily, do not try to remove it yourself. At waste equipment collection points, there are special containers for collecting these devices, such as smartphones, tablets or electric toothbrushes.
  • It is also possible to return the device to the manufacturer for proper recycling.
